Ceremony Design Inspiration | Ascending Weddings & Events

Ceremony design is one of the design aspects that sometimes get overlooked. Last week we talked about designing your wedding reception and this week we are going to focus on the actual place that you say “I Do” and profess your love and intentions to your partner. The Ceremony space, as I stated above often times is overlooked. I have heard everything from you’re only going to be there for a short time to it’s already a beautiful space.

All of this is true, a ceremony normally lasts about 30-45 min and if it is a Catholic ceremony it can last from 45 min to 1 hr and 30 min. Whatever time you take in this space remember this is the opening to your wedding day, this is where you will seal the deal with your partner. This is what you will remember as the place you said “I Do”. Now, most times when you pick your venue you are drawn in by how beautiful the ceremony space is or the amazing view, this is where you are going to really think about how you can put your special touch on this space. This can be adding flowers, bringing in an arch, or runner you want to make sure that it tells a story; this is the beginning of your story.

Your wedding is like a book, your story has a beginning, middle, and end. Start your story with your ceremony.

In this ceremony inspiration we used the simplicity of a circular arch not only were we able to play with shapes, we adorned the arch with gorgeous greenery and used flowers to bring in the pop of color. When you are thinking of your ceremony it is the little details you add that will bring it all together. Add an arch and flowers, or drapery that is in your wedding colors. Put thought behind what you are adding to create your perfect ceremony space.

Next use something that can be transitioned from ceremony to reception, this can be your flowers that can transition to your sweetheart table. You can also move your arch over your sweetheart table or your head table. These are conversations you should have with your planner or florist; these are things that may help you save on cost.

Next, make sure you get photo’s in front of the beautiful ceremony space that you had created for your wedding. Not just the photo’s that were taken during the ceremony, make sure your photographer schedules more time after.

Remember to schedule photos after the ceremony in the ceremony space.

Now we have this beautiful arch that you will be standing in front of on your wedding day, but I want to know what are you carrying? What does your bouquet look like?
